Core Physical Education

Core Physical Education at NSSFC promotes lifelong participation in physical activity, supporting students’ physical health, mental wellbeing and personal development. Core PE is not examined. Instead, it focuses on:
The curriculum is sequenced across Years 7–11 to ensure students experience a broad range of team and individual activities. Students progressively develop tactical understanding, technical skill and personal responsibility. Assessment is formative, focusing on effort, engagement, teamwork and personal improvement rather than examination outcomes. Students are encouraged to attend extra-curricular clubs, represent the school in fixtures and take on leadership roles within lessons. |

Key Stage 3

Core PE continues in Years 10 and 11, maintaining a focus on health, fitness and lifelong participation.
Students experience a wider range of activities and increased independence in preparation for adulthood.
