Meet the Safeguarding Team
At Northallerton School & Sixth Form College, safeguarding is our highest priority. We are fully committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where every student feels valued, respected, and able to thrive. All staff receive regular safeguarding training, enabling them to recognise and respond effectively to any concerns. We also work closely with parents, carers and external agencies to ensure the wellbeing of every young person in our care.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Mr James Thynne – Deputy Headteacher
Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) Miss Jo Smith – leads on safeguarding and child protection within the school. She is supported by our wider staff team, who work together to ensure that any concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately.
We encourage anyone, students, parents, carers or visitors — to speak to a member of the safeguarding team if they have any concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing.
